Italy’s antitrust authority Thursday said it has extended Credit Agricole SA’s (ACA.FR) deadline to reduce its stake in local lender Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (ISP.MI) after the French bank missed the previous date.

Credit Agricole’s new deadline is Feb. 22, from a previous one at the end of last month, said the country’s antitrust body, the Autorita Garante Della Concorrenza E Del Mercato, or AGCM, on its Web site.

The French bank must reduce its stake to less than 5%, it has said.
