First lady takes in Cloud Gate performance in Rome

Rome, June 23 (CNA) First lady Chow Mei-ching was the focus of attention among members of the audience for a performance by Taiwan’s world-renowned Cloud Gate Dance Theatre at Villa Adriana in Tivoli, outside Rome, on Tuesday.

Chow was accompanied by her eldest daughter Ma Wei-chung, who traveled from the United States to Italy to watch the Cloud Gate show along with her mother.

The ensemble performed its signature “Songs of the Wanderers” and received a standing ovation at the end of the show from an appreciative audience, to Cloud Gate founder Lin Hwai-min’s delight.
